25th Birthday Wishlist

For my 25th birthday this year I won’t be having a party or anything, but since it’s my quarter life, I thought it would be cool to post about a few things on my birthday wishlist this year!

Please do not feel obligated to buy me anything! I’m honestly just posting this because I have this wishlist saved in my phone and I haven’t blogged for a few weeks.

    • Qveen Herby Frames. I totes need this pair of gorgeous frames so I can be a BAMF like Qveen Herby!
    • Qveen Herby Tumbler. I’ve been looking for a cute tumbler to carry my tea to work in. This one is the perfect size!
    • Loepsie Tea Time Blouse. Love tea and love Loepsie’s YouTube channel so only makes sense that I represent with this tee.
    • Camo Jacket. I’ve had this on my list of wardrobe staples I need to have in my life for quite some time.
    • Skater Skirt. I only own one skater skirt and I love it so much that I kinda want to start a collection with at least two more colors.
    • Essential Oils. I’ve been getting into essential oils lately and I want to add some more to my collection to try in my diffuser!
    • Yoga Bolster.  I learned to do the saddle pose shortly after starting yoga and I can only do it with a bolster so I definitely want one of these for my yoga sessions!
    • Face Roller. These are all the rage right now, and since I’m super into skin care lately I’d love to try incorporating these into my routine.
    • Hair Scrunchie with Scarf. Gabriella Lindley wore one of these in a recent YouTube video and I totally love how cute they are. Seems like a super easy way to make a ponytail fun.

Spring 2019 Carnival Fun Playlist

The weather is finally getting warmer in NYC, and I cannot wait until it’s consistently 60-70° F out!

Springtime brings the gorgeous weather, pretty flowers, and fun outdoor carnivals and fairs. I’ve created a spring playlist with a carnival theme for your spring enjoyment. From Ferris wheels to carousels, let’s take a ride with these ten carnival-themed songs:

1. Fairground, Leo Kalyan. “Lose your cares in the afterglow, and spin me around, round.”

2. Carousel, Skylar Spence. This tune will have you “spinnin’ like a carousel.”

3. Round & Round, Selena Gomez & The Scene. Don’t go getting dizzy on me now.

4. Mannequin, Britney Spears. Don’t “scream your lungs out” on that ride.

5. All That’s Left, Manila Killa ft. Joni Fatora. “When we go ’round and ’round on this carousel.”

6. Carousel (Bobby Green Remix), Melanie Martinez. Go ahead, just dance your way through spring with this beat.

7. Merry Go Round, Kacey Musgraves. Doesn’t Kacey go so well with a beautiful spring day at the carnival?

8. The Real Thing, Phoenix. “Turn the eternal carousel on.”

9. Reforget, Lauv. But whatever you do, don’t let your “head [spin] like a carousel, over and over.”

10. All Stars, Martin Sloveig ft. ALMA. A spring anthem.

Happy Spring!

Gallery Mondays: #MacysFlowerShow 2019 @ Macy’s Herald Sq

Journey to Paradisios macys flower show 2019

I was shopping in the Herald Square area last week when I stumbled upon the Macy’s Flower Show. This year has a galactic sort of theme called Journey to Paradisios.

My phone battery was super low, so I didn’t take too many photos. While I didn’t think this theme was executed to its full potential, I did really enjoy the details in some of the smaller floral installations.

I guess galactic isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when I think of spring, much less flowers (are there flowers in space?), so this year’s flower show just wasn’t doing it for me.

I will say that this little terrarium is super adorbs, though!

If you are into things like this, definitely go check out the Macy’s Flower Show before it closes on April 7!

Fan Art Fridays: ‘Alita: Battle Angel’

Happy International Women’s Day!

Yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve done a Fan Art Fridays, I know.

I saw the new film Alita: Battle Angel, based on the Japanese manga series by Yukito Kishiro Battle Angel Alita, in theaters a few weeks ago. I’m usually not one to jump at the opportunity to see an action movie in theaters but this one seemed interesting, and even though I hadn’t read the manga, there was something drawing me to it. (I also had a promo code to buy the tickets but that only influenced 25% of my decision to see it).

Although Alita is a fictional character, I think she’s perfect to feature for a Fan Art Fridays post that falls on International Women’s Day. I think it’s really important for literature and film to feature strong females such as Alita to inspire young women to become leaders and fight for what’s right.

I love this fan art I found by sonny only on ArtStation because it shows Alita’s soft side as she watches a butterfly fly away off of her hand. But don’t be fooled—Alita unleashes her BAMF mode when necessary.

January Favorites: Nancy Pelosi v. Government Shutdown & ‘Masked Singer’ Premiere

January 2019 was sooooo bad. Thankfully, the world of pop culture kept our spirits high during the first month of the new year.

Here are a few highlights from the podcast (yes, I’m trying to get comfortable calling it that now):
