FashionMia Review

I’ve worked with a handful of brands through this blog over the last three years and never would I have imagined the ridiculousness that ensued while working with FashionMia.

FashionMia reached out to me in November 2017 about reviewing their clothing on my blog.

I was given a $50 credit to pick out a few items I liked from the site for this review. I ended up choosing four items.

I didn’t receive anything from the company until the beginning of January. It was the holiday season, so I wasn’t too peeved about it taking so long to arrive from China to New York.

But then I realized one of the four items—a burgundy blazer—wasn’t in the package I received. I contacted FashionMia to see what was up, and they said the notification system didn’t send me an email saying the item was out of stock, which would explain why it didn’t ship.

FashionMia decided to let me choose another item in place of the blazer, so I opted for a green dress. I asked if I could wait until the green dress arrived to write and film the YouTube video for my clothing review. They said yes, and assured me the dress would ship immediately. At the end of January, I got another email asking if I could post my review without having received my complete order. I was also told the green dress is out of stock.

Absolute insanity.

Needless to say, I don’t think I’ll be ordering from FashionMia ever again.

Here’s a written review of the items I did receive:

Blouse: I love the light fabric and bird print on this blouse. It’s a super easy piece to match with a pair of jeans, and it’s very colorful without being too over-the-top.

Clutch Bag: I’m well aware that I shouldn’t overload this clutch bag with too many things because it might break, so I’m fine with the light material of this bag. I probably won’t use the strap much. Overall, this clutch is perfect for those who don’t need to carry too much around while on a night out. I do wish that the strap clasps weren’t so tedious to remove.

Dress: I’m not happy with the way this dress fits. The mock neck has stretched out a bit after trying on the dress twice. The chest area has an awkward fold that isn’t flattering.

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Gal Gadot @ Critics’ Choice Awards 2018

Gal Gadot, red carpet fashion Critics Choice Awards 2018

Awards season is really turning out to be stellar this year.

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot appeared on the red blue carpet for the Critics’ Choice Awards 2018 wearing a gorgeous metallic gray pleated Prada dress. The dress features a plunging neckline and a cute boho accent along the waist.

The Israeli actress took home the #SeeHer Award at the ceremony in Santa Monica, California. Her speech was quite inspiring.

See below for two dresses inspired by Gal Gadot’s Critics’ Choice Awards 2018 look and clips of her acceptance speech.

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Ella Lopez in ‘Lucifer’ Episode “Vegas With Some Radish”

Ella Lopez, Lucifer, “Vegas With Some Radish” fashionAs if this weeks episode of FOX’s Lucifer, “Vegas With Some Radish,” wasn’t amazing enough, LAPD forensic scientist Ella Lopez wore the most incredible outfit during the casino scenes!

This outfit plus all the craziness in this episode are making “Vegas With Some Radish” one of my favorite Lucifer episodes to date.

Ella came down the escalator at the casino to meet Lucifer wearing a black and gold strapless dress that basically screams VEGAS. She paired the look with a cute gold clutch and wore her hair swept to the side.

This was a very exciting change of scene, I must say!

See below for some pieces inspired by Ella Lopez’s Vegas casino look.

1. Hot Miami Styles, $39.97

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Reese Witherspoon in Santa Monica

Reese Witherspoon fashion Santa Monica draper james

Reese Witherspoon was spotted last week in another Draper James piece while in Santa Monica.

The actress wore a white and sea green jacquard dress with cognac wedge sandals and a tote bag to match. I love the color combo, as it oozes earth tones! I would never personally think to pair white and green with tan but I really love the way it looks on Reese.

See below for the original items (marked by *) and alternatives to steal the look.

Martha Hunt fashion NYC

Model Martha Hunt was spotted in New York City a few days ago wearing the cutest little mini dress!

Her off-the-shoulder frock by FAITHFULL THE BRAND features red and white stripes, which literally scream hot summer days.

Ladies in NYC, take note of dresses like this for sweltering 90° days!

Below is the original dress (marked with *) and two others inspired by the look.

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Lauren Alaina @ ACM Awards 2017

Lauren Alaina 52 Annual ACM 2017

Is it Wednesday already?

Seems like everyone showed up at the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards dressed to impress, especially former American Idol contestant Lauren Alaina.

I haven’t really kept up with her music lately, but it was a pleasant surprise seeing her in that gorgeous slate blue gown on the pink carpet! I think it’s the perfect color for bridesmaids dresses, since slate blue is easy on the eyes with its powdery vibes.

See below for two similar dresses.

1. Nordstrom, $84.00

2. French Novelty, $178.99

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Kerry Washington @ 23rd SAG Awards

Kerry Washington was a guardian angel in white at the SAG Awards this past Sunday.

Instead of wings, she wore a safety pin on the left sleeve of her embroidered Roberto Cavalli off-the-shoulder gown to show solidarity with those affected by Trump’s travel ban.

I love the soft look of this dress. I bet it feels soft too, like a pile of cotton balls. The white contrasts so well with Kerry Washington’s dramatic black smokey eye makeup.

Below are two dresses inspired by the look.

1. Shopbop, $1,495.00

2. GILT, $399.00
