It’s SUMMERRRRRRRRRR!

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Julianne Hough @ Disney Christmas Celebration 2016

Julianne Hough was a super classy “lady in red” at Disney Parks’ Magical Christmas Celebration 2016, which aired on Christmas Day via ABC.

She co-hosted the show with her brother, Derek Hough, in a red strapless KaufmanFranco dress with pockets. I’m a sucker for a dress with pockets, so I fell in love with this look instantly. It makes posing for photos so much less awkward since there’s a designated spot for your hands!

Below are two dresses inspired by Julianne Hough’s look.

Dress:

1. Lord & Taylor, $57.00

2. Sexy Dresses, $29.99

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Nicky Hilton Over the Holiday

Nicky Hilton portrait lace dress

Nicky Hilton posed for some fun pics with her cousins and sister Paris Hilton over the holiday in this cute lace number by Self Portrait. She paired the dress with sparkly plum Louboutin heels to bring out that holiday magic.

I tend to get a bit weird about dresses like this because they often times look like curtains, but this Self Portrait dress has just enough edge that I disregard its curtain-like resemblance.

This dress is perfect for any Christmas or New Year holiday party, and a great way to say goodbye to Marsala (Pantone’s 2015 color of the year).

Luckily, the original dress (marked with *) is in stock at two online stores! The shoes, however, aren’t in stock at all, so I’ve listed some alternatives below as well as a similar dress option in 3/4 sleeves.

Dress:

1. Forward or Neiman Marcus, $520.00 *

2. New Look, £28.00 ($41.51 USD)

Shoes:

3. White House Black Market, $59.99

4. AliExpress, $31.44

Hello all! I am Syaza from Hana Blurbs 🙂 I am a beauty and lifestyle blogger and I could sidetrack to other types of blog niche once a while. Hehe. I’d like to thank Dana for the guest post opportunity 😀

Anyways, Christmas is coming soon! Despite not having snow here in Malaysia, people here still celebrate Christmas 🙂 So today I will be coming out with a few recommendations of mine, I hope my style won’t be too weird for you to digest!

Outfit #1: Monochrome Boy Chic

Monochrome Boy Chic

Personally, my style is a little tomboy and girly at the same time. Probably with a little rebel rock vibe. Haha. I wanted to do a little twist with the jumper, so I chose an asymmetrical tulle skirt with it. Since it’s rather cold during winter (it is also chilly lately here in Malaysia!), I suggest this Dr Martens boot paired together with long knee-length socks. This is heavily influenced by Japanese style probably, despite the fact I do not read a lot of Japanese magazines. Hehe.

Next one!

Outfit #2: Candy Cane Love

Another preference of mine: outfits that do not need to be sexy to look sexy. Get it? Haha. Other than that, I also want to emphasize on comfort, and for me, this set has that factor.

Outfit #3: Cutie Pie Dwarf

I wanted to find something with print, but I guess tulle skirts catches my attention for this season. This outfit is suggested for a Christmas party. There are two options for shoes, same type different heights – in case one feels like dancing or doesn’t. I can imagine all shapes and sizes wearing this dress. The length is not too overwhelming for anyone, in my opinion 🙂 With the kind of hair and makeup I have attached with, it’ll definitely attract a little attention :p

And that’s all for my recommendations! I hope this will at least inspire you a little 😀 Thank you!

Macy’s 87th Thanksgiving Day Parade

This morning, NBC brought the Thanksgiving celebration to all of our hearts with Macy’s 87th Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

macys parade

The parade was almost balloon-less this year due to the wind gusts in NYC today. Balloons were flown lower than usual as a precaution.

The festivities began on television at 9 a.m. with the Macy’s Great American Marching Band’s instrumental version of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Can’t Hold Us.”

It was a great start to the morning!

Here are ten other great performances/floats/balloons featured in the parade:

1. Kinky Boots “Raise You Up”/”Just Be”: The performance from the cast of the Broadway musical Kinky Boots stirred a bit of controversy…

Regardless, I think the performace was great. Those guys dance really well in high heeled boots! I do understand how that can be hard to explain to young children.

2. The Sound of Music “16 Going on 17” (Leisl and Rolf): The performance of “16 Going on 17” by Leisl and Rolf from The Sound of Music was simply adorable. The kiss at the end was so sweet!

3. All That! Cloggers: The all male group of cloggers from South Carolina did a fantastic job. Is there any chance you guys would be willing to let a female join in? (Wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

4. Cher Lloyd “I Wish”: Cher Lloyd performed her song “I Wish” while on board the Hess float this year. Loved it!

5. Richard Simmons: I think this one was more odd than great. Russel Simmons rode passed the green carpet inside of a tortoise while kicking his legs up and down. I don’t quite know how to understand this.

6. J.U.M.P.: Okay, I know some people didn’t like them, but I thought they were really cool. J.U.M.P. (Jumpers United for Macy’s Parade) skipped rope to Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s “I Need Your Love.” (Maybe I liked them so much because the only sport I can actually play well is jump rope. I felt a connection. What can I say?)

7. South Shore Drill Team: I thoroughly enjoyed the South Shore Drill’s routine to Usher’s “Euphoria.” They’ve got some great moves!

8. Despicable Me Cast: I can’t get enough of those cute little minions! The minions, Gru and the evil purple minion danced on their float to Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” a song from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack.

9. Ariana Grande “Last Christmas”: I hadn’t yet heard Ariana Grande’s version of “Last Christmas” before her performance on the Dora float this morning. I can’t say I didn’t like the R&B spin she put on the song!

10. Elf on the Shelf: The Elf on the Shelf balloon is one of the largest balloons to ever be part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I think this is the cutest elf I’ve ever seen!

As usual, the grand finale was Santa and Mrs. Claus, the cutest couple of the morning (well, afternoon at this point). Santa’s still looking healthy, and so does Mrs. Claus!

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Hanukkah! I’m thankful for all of my wonderful Whisper Box fans! You guys are awesome!

Have a great holiday!

Rockaway Beach

Now that the Fourth of July festivities are over, and I can actually stay awake long enough to edit pics and video, here’s a glimpse of how I spent my holiday.

IMAG1992

Yup. I hit the beach with my friends Kristell, Gina, and Niketa for Independence Day!!

Rockaway Beach is located in Far Rockaway. It’s not as nice as Miami Beach of course but its still pretty cool.

We expected the beach to be packed that day but surprisingly, at 12pm it wasn’t that full.

PicsArt_1372990140199

We left at around 4pm, when the tide was pretty much forcing us to move our stuff off the sand.

The birds fly really low at Rockaway Beach. Thankfully the seagulls were respectful enough to not poop on us.

IMAG1987

The scariest part of the day was when a horseshoe crab got washed onto shore. The kids started playing with it and turning it over with sticks.

EW.

The shells at Rockaway Beach are really sharp, so be careful. The ones that are still in tact are quite lovely though.

We all had a great time at the beach on July 4th, 2013. I even became a mermaid for a bit! Haha!!

Gina and Kristell made me a mermaid. Fun.

As always I couldn’t forget you guys:

I hope everyone had an awesome Fourth of July holiday!!
