Wardrobe Wednesdays: Julianne Hough @ Disney Christmas Celebration 2016

Julianne Hough was a super classy “lady in red” at Disney Parks’ Magical Christmas Celebration 2016, which aired on Christmas Day via ABC.

She co-hosted the show with her brother, Derek Hough, in a red strapless KaufmanFranco dress with pockets. I’m a sucker for a dress with pockets, so I fell in love with this look instantly. It makes posing for photos so much less awkward since there’s a designated spot for your hands!

Below are two dresses inspired by Julianne Hough’s look.

1. Lord & Taylor, $57.00

2. Sexy Dresses, $29.99

Photo Diary: Hofstra Fall Fest 2014

PicsArt_1411435533120

Oh, what a weekend September 19-21 was.

On Saturday, I attended the last Fall Festival at Hofstra that I will ever attend before becoming Hofstra alumni. The Vibe Live concert and carnival was a totally mind blowing trip through the 80s all the way to the future and back.

I took tons of photos to remember it by, so here’s a photo diary of the 2014 Hofstra Fall Festival and Vibe Live Carnival, featuring Rubix Qube, TLC, Matt & Kim and Janelle Monae!

Parade of Floats

This year, Hofstra student-run organizations created Disney-themed floats. Game of Thrones won first place!

Vibe Live Concert and Carnival

This year’s lineup was insane. Rubix Qube, 80s cover band made us reminisce, TLC made us proud to be 90s kids, Matt & Kim reminded us how cool it is to be weird and Janelle Monae put the electric in Electric Lady. The carnival rides were super fun, especially the Swinger in the cool September breeze.

Angelina Jolie’s ‘Maleficent’ Louboutin’s Sell for $1,500

maleficent shoes (1)

Attention shoe lovers: you can now get your hands on Angelina Jolie and Christian Louboutin’s Maleficent style heels.

Fans of the Disney film might remember seeing Jolie wearing the villainous heels at the premieres in London, Paris, and Shanghai. Some fashion critics didn’t really get the look.

“THEY might be Louboutins, but we’re not too sure about Angelina Jolie’s shoe choice at the Maleficent premiere in Shanghai,” wrote an Australian fashion columnist.

I think they’re brilliant.

The shoes are available for pre-sale at about $1,500. Villainess heels don’t come cheap!

Jolie’s heels are available in white, gold, and black. Every shoe purchased helps the SOS Children’s Villages charity.

“It’s exciting to work with a film that has such a strong aesthetic and a character as great as Maleficent,” said Christian Louboutin. “I’ve been under the charm and spell of Angelina and her character.”

The white pair is extremely detailed, with red blood dripping from the piece attached to the heel.

Pre-order the shoes at any flagship Louboutin store in New York, London, West Hollywood, Paris, and Hong Kong.

Keke Palmer to Play First African-American Cinderella on Broadway

Keke Palmer is on a roll lately. First a talk show on BET and now a lead role in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Broadway play Cinderella.

On September 9th, Keke Palmer will make history as the first African-American Cinderella to step foot on a Broadway stage.

That’s pretty amazing.

The 21-year-0ld actress is the youngest to have a talk show on cable television. She is also famous for her role as True Jackson on the Nickelodeon show True Jackson VP.

Rumor has is that Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes might play alongside Palmer as the fairy godmother.

That’s gonna be one for the critics.

The play currently features Nancy Opel as Madame, Joe Carroll as Prince Topher, Tony winner Victoria Clark as Marie, Ann Harada as Charlotte, Stephanie Gibson as Gabrielle, Todd Buonopane as Jean-Michel, Peter Bartlett as Sebastian and Phumzile Sojola as Lord Pinkleton.

I can’t wait to see Keke Palmer in a ball gown and glass slippers. I’m sure she’ll make Broadway proud!

Zendaya Drops Out of Aaliyah Biopic

“We just felt a little rushed, and I think because she is someone I admire and love so much it can’t be done halfway,” said 17-year-old Disney star Zendaya Coleman.

Fans were extremely excited when Lifetime announced a couple of weeks ago that Zendaya Coleman would take on the role of the late Aaliyah in a biopic.

However, production of the film has been put on hold due to her decision to pull out.

“I just felt the project wasn’t 100 percent there,” she said.

According to E! News, Lifetime was also having a trouble getting the rights to Aaliyah’s music for the film.

Not to worry, though. Zendaya would love still love to play Aaliyah in a biopic.

“By all means, when the right project comes along and it’s done the right way I’ll be the first person ready to play Aaliyah,” Zendaya said in an interview with MTV, “but this wasn’t the right one for me. I’ve been into Aaliyah since I was little, so there wasn’t too much getting into character. I always pretend I’m her anyway.”

Hopefully Zendaya comes by another opportunity to portray Aaliyah. I’d hate to see her talents go to waste all because she wasn’t connected to the right project!

This Week in Music: ‘Frozen’ Soundtrack’s “Let It Go” Gets an EDM Makeover

Let it Go EDM

So, is this one by Adele Dazeem?

It appears that the infamous “Let it Go” by Idina Menzel from the Frozen soundtrack got remixed and remastered by EDM artist Armin van Buuren.

This remix is part of a new Disney album called DConstructed, an album full of awesome Disney songs remixed by some of EDM’s best DJs.

Armin van Buuren brings a trance vibe to the song with an upbeat psychedelic melody.

Idina Menzel’s voice is slightly pitched in this remix, which is a popular theme in the EDM world.

I can’t say I don’t like this interesting spin on a Disney hit!

The music video is very cool as well. It features a storm, lightning through the clouds, fluorescent snowflakes, and an ice castle in the mountains.

The snowflake light show is very reminiscent of the visuals in Fantasia.

As Buzzfeed claims, “This one’s a banger, folks.”

Enjoy!
