Welcome to the first installment of #TWBT (The Whisper Box Talk) where I discuss happenings in the world of pop culture and entertainment!
As most boohoo shoppers probably did, I got a promotional email from the UK brand about The Zendaya Edit a few days ago. Some of you may already know this, but if you don’t I’ll make it explicitly known right now that I LOVE Zendaya Coleman’s style. It’s so eclectic and sometimes risky, which makes it so much fun to keep up with.
Needless to say, I clicked through to the edit immediately. I didn’t expect to be disappointed, and I definitely wasn’t.
While scrolling through the edit, I noticed many of the color schemes where quite subtle, with lots of white and yellow. There are some bold pieces in the edit with vibrant blues and colorful stripes, but for the most part, Zendaya seems to be going for a calm spring vibe with these pieces.
One of the most interesting ensembles from the photoshoot Zendaya did for this edit is the stripe satin ruffle maxi dress in red and white. She pairs the sweet dress with a pair of robust sneakers, which just goes to show how much of a risk taker the actress is with her fashion choices. She does the same with a pastel blue maxi dress of similar style.
I think my favorite piece from the edit by far is the striped maxi duster coat, not only because I’d totally splurge to buy it, but because I think it truly embodies Zendaya’s fierce and unapologetic style.
Even Paris Hilton is rocking it!
I also wouldn’t mind getting cozy in this pink sweater or going sporty chic in this blue bodycon dress with orange and yellow stripes.
So far, the edit has received complaints for not having plus sizes. It appears the plus sizes sold out first and will be restocked, according to boohoo. Regardless, I don’t think Zendaya should have to choose clothing for an edit that she can’t personally model herself, as she isn’t plus sized.
Maybe boohoo will get a plus sized actress or musician for their summer edit?

Today, Zendaya Coleman turned 21! I honestly didn’t realize she wasn’t yet legal before.
Zendaya is one of my fave multiracial celebrities. I love her eclectic sense of style. It matches her personality so well.
Speaking of style in this piece of fan art by Alina that I found in a collection on Tumblr, Zendaya wears a white blazer with a black lapel, a chambray top and some gold bling. So classy.
I also adore that shade of pink lipstick on her!
If you haven’t already seen Zendaya in Spiderman: Homecoming, this is the perfect opportunity to do so over the Labor Day holiday weekend!
Apparently, it might not be easy being green, but sure is easy wearing green.
Over the weekend at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, Zendaya graced the red carpet in a gorgeous green sheer maxi dress by Zuhair Murad.
Similar to Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year, Greenery, the dress is a gorgeous shade of light green, featuring a plunging neckline and embellished with a lovely floral design.
This shade of green doesn’t seem to be very popular when it comes to sheer maxi dresses, but below are a few options inspired by Zendaya’s look.
1. 6pm, $219.00
2. Lulu’s, $78.00
3. Forever 21, $18.99
“We just felt a little rushed, and I think because she is someone I admire and love so much it can’t be done halfway,” said 17-year-old Disney star Zendaya Coleman.
Fans were extremely excited when Lifetime announced a couple of weeks ago that Zendaya Coleman would take on the role of the late Aaliyah in a biopic.
However, production of the film has been put on hold due to her decision to pull out.
“I just felt the project wasn’t 100 percent there,” she said.
According to E! News, Lifetime was also having a trouble getting the rights to Aaliyah’s music for the film.
Not to worry, though. Zendaya would love still love to play Aaliyah in a biopic.
“By all means, when the right project comes along and it’s done the right way I’ll be the first person ready to play Aaliyah,” Zendaya said in an interview with MTV, “but this wasn’t the right one for me. I’ve been into Aaliyah since I was little, so there wasn’t too much getting into character. I always pretend I’m her anyway.”
Hopefully Zendaya comes by another opportunity to portray Aaliyah. I’d hate to see her talents go to waste all because she wasn’t connected to the right project!
