For the BET Social Awards last month, BET had a fun Museum of Meme in Soho, NYC that I couldn’t miss checking out.
While several of the pieces were quite funny, the meme featuring a painting of “Thriller” singer Michael Jackson stuffing his face with popcorn in a movie theater (essentially inspired by the meme that stemmed from this) with two real theater seats stationed underneath really got me.
The art card description next to the meme, titled Michael Jackson Eating Popcorn, features a quote from Dave Chapelle: “He wrote a Thriller. Thriller.”
I just thought it would be appropriate for Oscar Monday with its film themed humor, so, enjoy!

Ever since I heard the song “Red Lights” by Chloe x Halle a few weeks ago, I’ve been fascinated with the sister duo. Halle, the younger of the two, wore the coolest outfit to the BET Awards 2016 over the weekend.
She mixed vibrant red with black, white, and denim, achieving a very sophisticated yet laid back look. The tunic’s vertical stripes and length make it look as if she were wearing a dress, but the outfit gets a bit more playful once your eyes catch the ripped baggy boyfriend jeans and denim heels on the lower half.
Those are honestly the coolest heels I’ve ever seen!
Below are a few pieces similar to what Halle Bailey is wearing. Also, is it just me, or do they sound older than they look?
1. MatchesFashion.com, $257.00
2. StellaMax, $24.99
3. Soho Girl, $39.50
4. Urban Outfitters, $79.00
5. Shoespie, $79.76
6. Via Spiga, $116.50
Keke Palmer is on a roll lately. First a talk show on BET and now a lead role in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Broadway play Cinderella.
On September 9th, Keke Palmer will make history as the first African-American Cinderella to step foot on a Broadway stage.
That’s pretty amazing.
The 21-year-0ld actress is the youngest to have a talk show on cable television. She is also famous for her role as True Jackson on the Nickelodeon show True Jackson VP.
Rumor has is that Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes might play alongside Palmer as the fairy godmother.
That’s gonna be one for the critics.
The play currently features Nancy Opel as Madame, Joe Carroll as Prince Topher, Tony winner Victoria Clark as Marie, Ann Harada as Charlotte, Stephanie Gibson as Gabrielle, Todd Buonopane as Jean-Michel, Peter Bartlett as Sebastian and Phumzile Sojola as Lord Pinkleton.
I can’t wait to see Keke Palmer in a ball gown and glass slippers. I’m sure she’ll make Broadway proud!
