Gallery Mondays: Dogs at Fabiane’s Place by Tom Bob

#tombobnyc #fabianesplace

I was walking to South 4 Bar in Brooklyn for a Sob Sisters meeting that Ada Calhoun invited me to this evening when I stumbled upon this lovely street art next to Fabiane’s Cafe & Pastry Shop by Tom Bob (@tombobnyc on Instagram).

As if the dogs of NYC weren’t cute enough, now there’s six little pups immortalized in street art outside a cute Williamsburg cafe.

Tom Bob depicts the dogs against a New York City skyline with a red house behind them featuring a yellow bird on top. Very Charlie Brown-esque.

It’s little things like this that make me love stepping outside of Manhattan, even if just for an hour or two.

P.S. I think my favorite is wide-eyed Indigo, who appears to be a tan poodle!

See more of Tom Bob’s work on Instagram.

Gallery Mondays: Biscuits & Bath Doggy Gym

biscuits and bath doggy gym

Since I’m dog sitting for my roommate during her spring break this week, I thought it would be fitting to feature a piece of artwork I saw at Biscuits & Bath on the Upper East Side of Manhattan last month when it was still dead winter.

Sully took obedience classes there, and I’m kind of wondering if out in front of the center ever looks like it’s depicted in this piece. Perhaps during the spring and summer months?

Also, is it just me, or does the greenery on the archway, banister, and fence make this place like some sort of Doggy Garden of Eden?

Anyway, enjoy this little clip of my walk with Sully this evening:

Top 3 #SuperBowl50 Commercials

super bowl 50 commercials

I’m going to be totally honest here: Super Bowl 50 was lacking in the advertising department.

Last year I picked 5 favorites because there were so many good ones to choose from. This time I was barely able to get a solid three commercials for this list! What’s going on in creative, ad agencies of the world? Coldplay catch you cold? (Halftime was awesome btw!)

Here are the three Super Bowl 50 commercials that I am looking forward to seeing over the next month or so in between television shows:

1. Amazon Echo. Leave it to Alec Baldwin to be the jerk that commands a robot and also commands Marino to stop dancing. I love Alec anyway, jerkiness and all 😉 Also, Missy Elliot was a great addition to this commercial.

2. Doritos. I would NOT be able to keep my cool if a dog showed up at my register dressed like that while I was in retail.

3. Hyundai. Do you know how mind-blowing it was to see this commercial after watching Selfless 24 hours beforehand? SOMEBODY TAKE ME TO RYANVILLE.

Which Super Bowl 50 commercials were your faves? Leave a comment below!

April Favorites: Detroit D, Square-Faced Dogs & Grace Helbig’s Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge

April Faves

Alrighty. April is over, May is here, and hopefully you’ve got those ridiculous Justin Timberlake “It’s Gonna Be May” meme laughs out of your system.

The beginning of April seemed kind of dull for pop culture news but things got interesting towards the end.

Here are my April favorites!

Snooki Calls Kate Middleton A MILF

snooki and kate

Oh, Snooki.

As many of you know, the royal baby’s family portraits leaked three hours early via Twitter. Apparently not even the royals can control the internet.

Or Snooki’s mouth for that matter.

After seeing the beautiful family portraits, one with just Kate, William, and George, and another with the family plus dogs Tilly and Lupo, Snooki decided to gush over them on her Celebuzz blog:

“Congrats to Will and Kate on their beautiful baby boy George! He totally looks like his daddy here, and I can already tell he’s going to be the cutest royal baby ever!!! And can I just say how fricken AMAZING Kate looks?! Like why is she perfect?! She just gave birth and she looks like she’s ready to walk the runway.

“She is my inspiration for my next pregnancy! So obsessed with this family and cannot wait to hear more about them! We all know they will be amazing parents to their precious nugget! I’m just waiting to hear the dirty poop and pee stories!!! Kisses to you guys, and Kate….you’re a MILF.”

Umm, what?!

Leave it to Snooki to go over the top with her compliments.

A simple, “and Kate…you look gorgeous” or “…stunning”, or “…SEXY” even would have done.

But no. MILF just had to be her word of choice.

Gotta give the girl some props for managing to be relevant in the revealing of these portraits, though.
