Fan Art Fridays: Ed Sheeran

I know I said I’d be back yesterday. I had every intention of posting but I got home from work very late and very tired.

But I’m here now with a new Fan Art Fridays!

Ed Sheeran’s new album ÷ is finally out and boy, did our Teddy outdo himself with the diversity aspect on the deluxe edition for this one!

From fast paced raps and dancable rhythms to slow ballads and foreign languages, Ed Sheeran’s album is a real treat that’ll probably get him a ton of new faces in the crowd on tour. I personally fell in love Twi song “Bibia Be Ye Ye.”

While snooping around Instagram, I came across this really creative fan art of Ed Sheeran by sarahasartist. Drawn on brown paper, the chorus of “Thinking Out Loud” dances across his slight grin. It’s the perfect transition from x to ÷.

Check out sarahasartist’s work over on Instagram.

This Week In Music: Ed Sheeran’s “Bloodstream”

bloodstream ed sheeran

Well, it seems like Mr. Sheeran’s bleeding chemicals these days.

Ed Sheeran has released three songs (“Bloodstream,” “Don’t” and “Afire Love”) from his upcoming album, x (Multiply), giving fans a taste of what to expect from his latest project.

“Bloodstream” begins with an acoustic guitar melody, accompanied by Sheeran’s deep humming that plays continuously after the chorus parts of the song.

The lyrics in the song are quite emotionally heavy. “This is how it ends, I feel the chemicals burn in my bloodstream […] tell me when it kicks in,” he sings.

The chemical addictions lead to violence, as Sheeran sings, “Lord forgive me for the things I’ve done, I was never meant to hurt no one.”

Towards the end of the song, there is a beautiful round where Sheeran makes the listener feel intoxicated, head spinning as he sings over and over again,

All the voices in my mind
Calling out across the line
So tell me when it kicks in
I saw scars upon her
Tell me when it kicks in
Broken heart.

I’m not really a fan of this track in particular, but if he mixes songs like “Bloodstream” along with the album’s lead single, “Sing,” x will definitely be a hit.

Pre-order x on iTunes.
