Fan Art Fridays: Olly Alexander

Years & Years put out a new album today called Palo Santo, and I’m really loving it!

My faves on the album are “Hallelujah”, “Rendezvous”, and “Karma”, which happen to be the more upbeat tunes on the track list. I’ve always loved the ballad-y songs from Years & Years, but this time around I’m digging the danceable melodies.

In celebration of Palo Santo, I’ve decided to feature this fun fan art of lead singer Olly Alexander for this week’s Fan Art Fridays. The watercolor piece is by Viva (@artisqueer) on Instagram. I absolutely love the flower crown look on him. He’s totally working it!

Fan Art Fridays: Ed Sheeran

I know I said I’d be back yesterday. I had every intention of posting but I got home from work very late and very tired.

But I’m here now with a new Fan Art Fridays!

Ed Sheeran’s new album ÷ is finally out and boy, did our Teddy outdo himself with the diversity aspect on the deluxe edition for this one!

From fast paced raps and dancable rhythms to slow ballads and foreign languages, Ed Sheeran’s album is a real treat that’ll probably get him a ton of new faces in the crowd on tour. I personally fell in love Twi song “Bibia Be Ye Ye.”

While snooping around Instagram, I came across this really creative fan art of Ed Sheeran by sarahasartist. Drawn on brown paper, the chorus of “Thinking Out Loud” dances across his slight grin. It’s the perfect transition from x to ÷.

Check out sarahasartist’s work over on Instagram.

Fan Art Fridays: Welcome to Instagram, Adele

Last night I got a notification on my phone saying that Adele had joined Instagram. I immediately unlocked my phone to see her first photos.

The singer’s very first Instagram pic is of her gorgeous face with the caption, “25 out November 20th”.

25 out November 20th

The amount of excitement that ensued in my bedroom at 11PM is unspeakable. I almost woke my aunt up.

As a warm welcome to Adele for her arrival on Instagram, I’ve decided to dedicate this week’s Fan Art Fridays to her. I found this piece of fan art on Photobucket. It’s by artist Sarah Badr.

I can almost hear her singing to me through this artwork. Needless to say, I cannot wait until November 20th! It’s been too long since her last album, 21, so my body is most definitely ready.

Fan Art Fridays: Coldplay

I just found out yesterday that Coldplay will be releasing their new album A Head Full of Dreams by the end of 2015!

According to Contact Music, the album is going to be way less somber than Ghost StoriesThe release date still has yet to be confirmed, but we do know that the songs on the album will have a more positive, upbeat vibe.

I’m really excited to hear A Head Full of Dreams. I wasn’t too pleased with Ghost Stories, so I’m hoping that they’ve gone back to writing songs like “Viva La Vida,” and “Don’t Let It Break Your Heart.”

To celebrate the good news, I decided to showcase this drawing of the band with the word “VIVA” in the backdrop.

Fan Art Fridays: The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye)

Why is The Weeknd’s hair always 50 Shades of Cray?

I was just catching up on some music news when I found out that he’s been hiding details about an album release. Looks like someone at iTunes New Zealand couldn’t keep a secret

So apparently we can expect a new album from The Weeknd called Beauty Behind the Madness on August 28th, but that hasn’t officially been confirmed.

Please don’t get me all excited for nothing.

This piece of fan art was found on Twitter. What will it take for him to go back to the hairstyle featured on bust number one in row two?
