Fan Art Fridays: Chloe x Halle

Okay, I know I’m a little late with this, but my ears just got around to finishing Chloe x Halle’s new album, which was very well orchestrated, IMO.

Titled The Kids Are Alright, the album features a great mix of R&B, pop, and trap. It’s been a while since I’ve thoroughly enjoyed an entire album that’s rooted heavily in R&B, so I give these sisters kudos.

I’m not even going to lie, there were times I zoned out at work while listening to some of these tracks and thought I was listening to BeyoncĂ©. It makes sense, as BeyoncĂ© was an influence for the album and the girls are signed to her label Parkwood Entertainment.

Here are my fave tracks from The Kids Are Alright:

“Down” – I swear this was in an episode of grown-ish (which both Chloe x Halle star in and are amazing on, btw) and I went nuts trying to find this song online but couldn’t because it wasn’t officially released yet. SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THAT THIS IS THE SONG. I may never know.

“Happy Without Me” – I love the way the girls voices sound so comforting and sisterly together as they sing the word “me.” I think it really ties up the sad nature of the situation described in the song and makes the ending seem optimistic, as it should.

“Galaxy” – I almost feel kind of bad for this guy they’re sending into the galaxy because of the jungle beat. Like, is this some sort of Jurassic Park galaxy? Will he survive? Do we want him to?

Enjoy this fun fan art I found on Instagram of Chloe x Halle by ghostnovas, inspired by an image of the sisters with their hair tied together. The sisters posted it on their Instagram account in 2016. The cartoon version of Halle Bailey looks super realistic!

Fan Art Fridays: BØRNS

BØRNS released his new album Blue Madonna today, and I absolutely love it.

It’s got that smooth, laid-back grooviness I’ve come to really enjoy about his music. The album features Lana del Rey on “God Save Our Young Blood” and the title track “Blue Madonna.”

My faves on the album are “Sweet Dreams”, “Iceberg”, “Second Night of Summer”, and “Tension (Interlude)”, the latter being my number one favorite track on Blue Madonna.

In celebration of Blue Madonna, I’ve decided to feature this fun piece of fan art of BØRNS that I found on Tumblr by Erin Young. It’s an oil on canvas painting that depicts the singer with pink hair wearing a floral top and sunglasses that suit him perfectly.

Fan Art Fridays: Britney Spears

Early this Friday morning, Britney Spears tweeted a photo of herself surrounded by 16 men on the set of the upcoming music video for her new single “Make Me (Oooh)” featuring G-Eazy.

A few hours later, E! reported that the music video will most likely be out in July, and there’s also a new Britney album on the way for fall 2016.

Stop. Wait. I haven’t even listened to Britney Jean yet! (I know, I know. Shame on me. What have you been doing for the last 3 years, Dana?!)

In celebration of this phenomenal news, I’ve decided to feature this amazing fan art of Britney by Natalie Cunial (you might remember her from Big Brother 9). I found it in a Pinterest board filled with Britney Spears fan art, and this painting stood out to me the most because of its warm color palette.

Fan Art Fridays: That Dangerous Woman Ariana Grande

Do you know that “Dangerous Woman”? The “Greedy” one that makes “Bad Decisions”?

Well her album came out today. (Now I guess you can tell which tracks from Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman are my faves!)

I’ve been waiting for today since the beginning of spring because I was so impressed with the singles “Dangerous Woman” and “Let Me Love You.”

Dangerous Woman is for sure going on my list of favorite albums at the end of the year. Today is my birthday, too (YAY 22!) and this is a super awesome gift from the music world.

Maybe it’s because I still associate Ariana Grande with Sam and Cat but it’s still for me to consider her dangerous. She seems so sweet in real life too!

In honor of the release of Dangerous Woman, I’ve selected this amazing fan art by Hiago Silva I found on Instagram featuring Ariana with her latex bunny headgear. It’s inspired by the new album’s cover, and it’s pretty much a complete replica of it, which I love.

Fan Art Fridays: BeyoncĂ©

The hype about BeyoncĂ©’s Lemonade is still going strong, so today’s Fan Art Fridays is a piece of fan art I found on Instagram inspired by the visual album that was released on HBO over the weekend.

Created by beavisualartist, the art depicts Queen Bey in a yellow dress with a bat in hand from the scenes in the visual album where she’s smashing a car on the street with a bat.

That must have been fun to film.

The words “Hot Sauce” on the fan art I assume are a reference to the lyrics in her song “Formation.” Well now we’ve got a whole new album to make memes out of.

I absolutely love how lovely the dress was drawn. Beyoncé looks gorgeous in yellow, and beavisualartist found the perfect shade of yellow to color it!

Here are some in-depth articles on Lemonade. You can view the original fan art here and watch the trailer for the visual album below.
