California Day 4: Shopping, ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ & The Golden State Cafe

L.A., L.A, baby …

– The Jonas Brothers

Day 4 in California was the day I’d been waiting for—seeing Bradley Cooper and Andrew Garfield at a live taping of The Late Late Show with James Corden!

But before the show we went shopping at Ross and I found this cute LBD that comes with a scarf for $6.

I could not leave without it.

Then my mom, aunt, and I went to the Dollar Tree next door and I went a bit nail strip crazy. I’ve never seen so many brands in one store. Kill me next time.

We were due at CBS Studio City at 3pm, so we arrived at around 2:30 just in case we got stuck in traffic. And guess what?

There was no freaking parking. So we had to pay money to park at The Grove a few minutes away.

Anyway…

We stood in the blazing sun for almost 40 minutes before they let us into the waiting area. At least 1iota was nice enough to give us umbrellas and bottled water. Still, I have a lovely tan line the shape of my flats on my feet from the sun.

But honestly, it was totally worth it! James Corden is so cool and weird, and Bradley Cooper danced for us, and Andrew Garfield let his hair out of the man bun (as you probably saw on the episode), and I was so happy to have been breathing the same air as all these Hollywood people….

Gosh, Bradley Cooper’s dancing though. *swoon*

After the show I took this photo with my dad by the water installation at CBS.

And then we went to The Golden State Cafe for burgers, fries, and grilled chicken. I was served an enormous bowl of fries that I couldn’t finish, so I took it back to the hotel.

Thank you James Corden and 1iota for making my trip to California amazeballs!

Stay tuned for day 5 tomorrow!

Magic! Live @ Irving Plaza #FashionRocksFrontRow

IMAG0336

On Friday, August 29th, right before the Labor Day weekend festivities, a Canadian reggae-pop band decided to bring a bit of magic to the end of our summer.

The Magic! concert was powered by the new LG G3 at Irving Plaza. I am again in debt to 1iota for the tickets my friend and I acquired for the show.

Before the show began, we were able to take some really cool photos in front of the LG G3 billboard backdrop. Super cool stuff!

While we waited in front of the stage for Magic! to perform, DJ K Styles spinned some sassy beats for us. I was pleased to see a female DJ for a change.

At 2pm, it was time to get down with to some reggae with lead singer Nasri and the rest of the Magic! gang.

The band opened with “No Evil,” Nasri ending the song making an X sign with his arms.

Can I just say that Nasri has the most amazing pelvic movements the world has ever seen! He’s like, the Elvis of reggae-pop!

Nasri, can you take me clubbing in Canada? Is that a thing that can happen?

The rest of the set list included “Mama Didn’t Raise No Fool,” “Paradise,” “How Do You Want to Be Remembered,” and their upcoming single “Let Your Hair Down.”

Speaking of hair, Nasri has gorgeous locks. Brb, still swooning.

The girls got an extra special shout out hen the band performed a revamped reggae-tastic cover of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” They know what they’re doing, man.

The show ended with “Rude,” the song on everyone’s tongue this summer. Everyone went nuts in the crowd.

This was such an awesome way to end the summer. Thanks again for the tickets, 1iota!

Luckily, the concert was livestreamed, so you can watch it online here!

2013 VMAs Pit Fans Experience

IMAG2400

I am forever in debt to 1iota.com and MTV.

I’m still dreaming guys. I really am. If I could give you a minute by minute play by play I would, but I’m still dreaming.

I’m in limbo…

Ok, in all seriousness, here is what I wore. There are no pictures of my Gatsby style attire on my body because I was rushing to get out of the house. So here is the look in layout form.

IMAG2401-1

That’s right. I wore my Fergie heels. So when DJ Cassidy played “The Time” by Black Eyed Peas, I couldn’t help but sing “I got freaky, freaky, baby…”

Yes. I was THAT girl in the pits. I knew the words to almost every song. I had so much room to dance!

However, I only think I had that much room because my other pit party members were afraid of me…

Sorry?

So I rush to the BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), and there are a billion and one lines to get in for pit priority.

Lovely, we’re all being punked.

No, no, rest assured, a 1iota t-shirt wearing man told us all: “THIS IS NOT THE VMAS.”

I show them my ID and my priority ticket. They said my name wrong a few times, but that’s cool. I’m not Fergie Duhamel or anything so my reps won’t be on your case.

Blue priority wrist band is now on. Things are getting real.

This is the ceiling at BAM guys. Look at it.

IMAG2391

So now 1iota is trying to get us over to Barclay’s safely.

But wait. This is the VMAS guys. So of course there’s a barricade with thousands of screaming fans at Fulton!

IMAG2392Mind you, I’m running across streets and trying not to die. IN HEELS.

Alright, I’m convinced. Fast forward through security and now, I get choked up and almost start to cry as I walk past the MTV equipment, and the lights, and, OMJ guys I don’t even know guys. It was so freaking amazing.

Now I’m standing in heels trying to help 1iota fix cameras and stuff. We were basically doing the electric slide for about 30 minutes.

Yeah. A whole bunch of young adults dancing the electric slide on a floor they can’t even believe they’re standing on. Sure.

Oh, and to the girl with the electronic cigarette in the pits during all this shenanigans:

Thank you for almost getting us all kicked out.

So the rest you all saw on television. Of course, I saw some completely different things but here are a few highlights.

Highlights: (IN SOMEWHAT PARTICULAR ORDER)

1. Lady Gaga’s performance: We all knew it would be awesome. Trust me, it was.  Cue the “Applause.”

2. Bubble Butt was on stage with Miley Cyrus. What is life.

3. Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” performance. More on that later.

4. Kanye West. Those shadows? THE FANS IN THE PIT!!

5. Bruno Mars. Three gunshots and fire! Lovely! Trying to give me a heart-attack?!!

6. I had three Brits in my midst. Ellie Goulding sitting on Rita Ora’s lap, and Mister Ed Sheeran to their left. I’m still in limbo.

7. KATY PERRY. BROOKLYN BRIDGE. PRISM TRUCK. I think I saw her in my left eye wearing a lace white dress? Again, still fuzzy. “Roar.”

8. Justin Timberlake’s performance. 15 minutes. I danced like I’ve never danced before.

9. NSYNC REUNION.

10. Justin Timberlake sang to me the life of every young girl’s sloppy romance, and then has the nerve to say he doesn’t deserve Video Vanguard?!

SHUT. UP!!

My Favorite Performance:

“Blurred Lines”: Robin Thicke

He pulled blue gum out of that dancer’s mouth and ate it. SEXY.

Well played Mr. Business Man. Well played.

Here are some of the pics I took after the show. And a short video.

THE WHISPER BOX LOVES 1iota!!
