DSLR Diaries: New York Fashion Week SS20

It’s time for another DSLR Diaries!

I had a blast being an amateur photographer during New York Fashion Week SS20. While I wasn’t prepared to take shots of moving models on the catwalk (didn’t know how to work the manual shutter speed), thankfully, I was invited to photograph the Kentina showcase backstage. So exciting!

I also went to two NYFW events, one at Micheal’s Luxury Consignment shop on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and a blogger event at Ann Taylor on 5th Ave (thanks for the invite, Christina!).

I wasn’t able to take any photos at all during the Minika Ko showcase I went to at PH-D Lounge (the Penthouse rooftop at Dream Downtown) because it was so dark that my night mode setting was USELESS. I was able to get a decent video on my DSLR though, which you can see in this Instagram post.

Without further ado, enjoy DSLR Diaries a la fashion week:

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Victoria Justice @ Rebecca Minkoff NYFW 2017 Show

Victoria Justice Rebecca Minkoff NYFW 2017

Let’s throw this back to NYFW almost two weeks ago, because I totally forgot about this killer floral number Victoria Justice wore to Rebecca Minkoff’s show on September 9, 2017.

The actress was head to two Rebecca Minkoff with a pair of chunky suede sandals and a long sleeve floral mini dress. I love outfits like this for weird summer to fall transition weather. It’s basically fall on top with the long sleeves and summer on the bottom with sandals!

I also really love this dark color scheme for fall, as it isn’t the traditional brown or orange theme. The blue and purple against the black dress are very easy on the eyes.

See below for the original dress and sandals (marked with *) as well as alternatives to steal this look.

Dress:

Left – Rebecca Minkoff, $228.00 *

Right – LuLu’s, $43.00

Sandals:

Top – Rebecca Minkoff, $131.00 *

Bottom – Stuart Weitzman, $455.00

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Priyanka Chopra in NYC for NYFW Fall 2016

Quantico‘s Priyanka Chopra was spotted during NYFW at the Altuzarra show wearing a simple pink knit dress from the SS17 Resort collection.

She paired the dress with black strappy block heel sandals and a gorgeous dusty rose colored lip. I absolutely love that lipstick on her!

Below are some pieces inspired by Priyanka’s outfit. Enjoy the rest of NYFW!

Dress:

1. Maykool, $7.99

2. Chicnova, $18.00

Shoes:

3. TopShop, $20.00

4. Nordstrom, $98.95

Gallery Mondays: Béatrice Coron’s “Elegant”

NYFW SS17 is in full swing! It’s so much fun just walking around Manhattan during New York Fashion Week and seeing all the fashionable people walking about from venue to venue between shows.

I got off the A train at 104 Street last week on the way to my parents’ house and I remembered Béatrice Coron’s stainless steel cutout “Elegant” from the installation On the Right Track. It’s like the woman in the cutout just walked off the runway wearing that gorgeous gown.

Enjoy the rest of NYFW!

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Gigi Hadid in NYC During Fall NYFW 2015

Gigi Hadid NYC NYFW 2015

Hope you’re enjoying the last few days of NYFW! Gigi Hadid took advantage of the nice weather on September 10th to sport a bright orange romper and studded sneakers.

Both the weather and the start of NYFW were definitely cause for a vibrant celebration. She looks super cool and super colorful with those sunglasses as a nice added touch.

I’m sure the original items (marked with *) will sell out soon, so here are some alternatives below!

Romper:

1. Planet Blue, $140.00 *

2. Punch Clothing, $161.00

Sunglasses:

3. Designer Seven, $88.00

4. Amazon, $105.00 *

Sneakers:

5. Nordstrom Rack, $59.97 *

#FashionRocks 2014 Highlights

New York Fashion week brought a night of hot models, amazing performances and bootyliciousness to the Fashion Rocks event at Barclay’s Center on Tuesday.

The show was hosted by Ryan Seacrest, who looked absolutely dapper in a suit and blue bow tie.

The evening began with the very anti-climatic entrance of Usher, introduced by a pre-taped motorcycle ride through NYC. He proceeded to perform “She Came to Give It to You” with some help from Jourdan Dunn who looked stunning!

The rest of the performances failed to disappoint. Here are some of the night’s highlights:

1. Pitbull’s Gatsby-esque performance of “Fireball.” It’s always a party with Pitbull.

2. When Ryan Seacrest stood with a group of gorgeous models.

3. Enrique Iglesias’ performance with Sean Paul.

4. JLo’s “Booty.” WOW.

5. When JLo started giving Nicki Minaj the look during her “Anaconda” performance. #BootyWars

6. When Justin Bieber stripped down to his underwear and the audience booed him.

7. Rita Ora grabbing a male model’s butt. And then wished she could follow him off stage.

8. Latrice Royale. ‘Nuff said.

What did you think of all the craziness that happened during the show?
