As you may have noticed, I skipped over February Favorites because I decided to combine it with March’s Monthly Favorites post now that I’m a bit less busy.
Here are the highlights from this Monthly Favorites podcast!
The weather is finally getting warmer in NYC, and I cannot wait until it’s consistently 60-70° F out!
Springtime brings the gorgeous weather, pretty flowers, and fun outdoor carnivals and fairs. I’ve created a spring playlist with a carnival theme for your spring enjoyment. From Ferris wheels to carousels, let’s take a ride with these ten carnival-themed songs:
1. Fairground, Leo Kalyan. “Lose your cares in the afterglow, and spin me around, round.”
2. Carousel, Skylar Spence. This tune will have you “spinnin’ like a carousel.”
3. Round & Round, Selena Gomez & The Scene. Don’t go getting dizzy on me now.
4. Mannequin, Britney Spears. Don’t “scream your lungs out” on that ride.
5. All That’s Left, Manila Killa ft. Joni Fatora. “When we go ’round and ’round on this carousel.”
6. Carousel (Bobby Green Remix), Melanie Martinez. Go ahead, just dance your way through spring with this beat.
7. Merry Go Round, Kacey Musgraves. Doesn’t Kacey go so well with a beautiful spring day at the carnival?
8. The Real Thing, Phoenix. “Turn the eternal carousel on.”
9. Reforget, Lauv. But whatever you do, don’t let your “head [spin] like a carousel, over and over.”
10. All Stars, Martin Sloveig ft. ALMA. A spring anthem.
I was shopping in the Herald Square area last week when I stumbled upon the Macy’s Flower Show. This year has a galactic sort of theme called Journey to Paradisios.
My phone battery was super low, so I didn’t take too many photos. While I didn’t think this theme was executed to its full potential, I did really enjoy the details in some of the smaller floral installations.
I guess galactic isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when I think of spring, much less flowers (are there flowers in space?), so this year’s flower show just wasn’t doing it for me.
I will say that this little terrarium is super adorbs, though!
