For Valentine’s Day 2018, I’ve decided to collaborate with fellow blogger Tiffany Khyla over at Endless Bliss to make you lovebirds two lovey-dovey playlists!

Tiffany Khyla, Endless Bliss

Tiffany Khyla is a full-time hotel social media marketer and a part-time blogger at Endless Bliss, a happy lifestyle and entertainment blog for wanderers, dreamers and happiness seekers. On Endless Bliss, she shares her tales of working on a cruise ship, the ups-and-downs of living the Air Force lifestyle and her obsession with Harry Potter. She’s an ESFJ Sagittarius with a passion for people, exploring new places and getting lost in a good book. When she’s not busy behind a computer screen, you can find her singing along to every Taylor Swift song, stuffing her face with sushi or sipping on a glass of Cabernet.

You can check out her playlist here.

As for my playlist, which I’m dubbing “Spotify & Chill,” it starts out sappy and slow, then switches to a smooth groove toward the end.

So get cuddly with some wine and crank up the volume with this Valentine’s Day 2018 Spotify & Chill 8-track mini mix!

1. Song for You, Rhye. Because what kind of romantic chill session would this be without Rhye?

2. Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop, Landon Pigg. I can’t promise that this is as sappy as it gets. #Sorrynotsorry

3. Love is a Drum, Cider SkyIf you’re not lying close enough to hear the other person’s heartbeat then you’re doing it wrong.

Romantic Songs for Valentine’s Day

songs for valentines day

With the terrible snow storm that’s currently brewing in the Northeast, Valentine’s Day plans aren’t looking too swell.

However, couples can have a nice candlelight dinner at home with a romantic playlist in the background.

Even if you don’t have a Valentine this year, you can still enjoy some of the most sappy romantic songs on this playlist.

Here are 14 songs to celebrate with on February 14th, and the most romantic lyric from each:

1. Edge of Desire, John Mayer
“Young and full of running, all the way to the edge of desire…”

2. Sweet Disposition, Temper Trap
“Songs of desperation / I played them for you.”

3. Reunion, M83
(Bridge)
My body is like a lightning rod
Capsize me and douse me in your bay
A shiver of want, always
When you are on the tip of my tongue
In the back of your parked car
I could build a fort
And play all day
Between your lips and mine
Let’s stay here forever

4. Spectrum, Zedd ft. Matthew Koma
“We’ll run where lights won’t chase us / Hide where love can save us / I will never let you go.”
Check out the Assi Elfassi Remix of “Spectrum” by Zedd ft. Matthew Koma

5. And Counting, LIGHTS
“When I fall asleep I feel you with me. Until I fall asleep and you are with me.”

6. Pieces, Cider Sky
“I’ve never felt oh so bold, so shy, so tell me what you wanna do.”

7. When I Look At You, Miley Cyrus
(Chorus)
You appear just like a dream to me
Just like kaleidoscope colors that cover me
All I need, every breath that I breathe
Don’t you know, you’re beautiful?

8. The Best Thing, Electric Youth
“…And you, are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

9. When You Look Me in the Eyes, Jonas Brothers
“I find my paradise / When you look me in the eyes.”

10. Never Gonna Leave This Bed, Maroon 5
“So come here, and never leave this place / Perfection of your face slows me down.”

11. Red Letter, This Condition
(Chorus)
I should tell her that I love her
I need her tonight
That the stars are only second to her beautiful eyes
I want her all for my own
I should tell her.

12. Chasing You, Capital Cities ft. Soseh
“Chasing you. That’s the only thing I want to do.”

13. Teenage Dream, Katy Perry
(Verse 1, Part 2)
Before you met me, I was a wreck
But things were kinda heavy, you brought me to life
Now every February you’ll be my valentine, valentine
Check out the “Teenage Dream” (Official Remix) by Katy Perry

14. All Those Pretty Lights, Andrew Belle
“And there’s a beating in my chest /And it’s seeming to suggest / That before this day is through / It might go my way.”

This Week in Music: Selena Gomez’s Leaked “Love Will Remember”

What’s life without a little bit of leaked music, eh?

love will remember

Yesterday, Selena Gomez’s song “Love Will Remember”, which will be released on the Stars Dance album on July 23rd, got leaked.

She doesn’t seem that upset about it either. She embraced it, posting a video to her YouTube sending fans to the song via Soundcloud link.

Yay?

The big hype about this song is the fact that the intro features a voicemail. Said voicemail might be a real voicemail from her ex Justin Bieber.

Well.

I will admit that it does sound like Bieber. And its a pretty sweet message.

Is it wrong that this little detail reminded me of that article I read on Hollyscoop about Justin Bieber (aka Bitter Bieber, haha) banning all Selena Gomez songs from his photoshoot?

I bet this song is at the very top of his banned list now!!

Selena Gomez admitted to InStyle that the song is about Bieber. “That’s the most personal track on the record, for sure. I think it’s a sweet way of releasing it. It’s not an aggressive approach to what people are probably expecting,” she said.

“Love Will Remember” is a ballady type song. It’s not too slow, but the tempo is light enough to evoke more of an appreciation for the lyrics.

I think the lyrics are the best part of this song. Writers Antonina Armato, Desmond Child, David Jost and T. James did a mighty fine job of working with Selena to create such profound lyrics.

My favorite lyrics from the song are the first verse and the bridge. I especially like the part that goes:

Now’s all we got,
And time can’t be bought,
I know it inside my heart
Forever will forever be ours…

I also really like the bridge where Selena Gomez sings, “Somewhere in forever we’ll dance again.”

So romantic! Brings a tear to my eye!

I think the underlying “Oh”‘s in the chorus are a nice touch as well.

I’m not going to lie, I didn’t really like the song too much when I heard it the first time. It took three listens to really get into it.

Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album later this month!
