Remember that awesome Audubon Mural Project mural I saw a couple of months ago? The “Western Tanager” by Yu-baba? Well I found another one, this time a “Peregrine Falcon” by Australian street artist Damien Mitchell!
This mural can be found on St. Nicholas Ave. between W 147 and W 148 Street near the A, C, B, D station and M3 bus stop. I love how the falcon is depicted in mid-flight. Its eyes are also very captivating.
Watch Damien Mitchell paint the mural in the video below!
Over the weekend I came across this beautiful mural in Washington Heights on the iron gate of Marina Dental Center.
Painted by Belarusian artist Yu-baba as part of the Audubon Mural Project, the mural features a gorgeous western tanager, an American songbird, surrounded by leaves and berries.
In collaboration with Gitler &_____ Gallery, the National Audubon Society’s Audubon Mural Project brings awareness to the climate-threatened birds of our environment.
Needless to say, I’m going on a hunt for all the rest of these murals! There are 67 murals currently complete, with 247 left to be painted.

It’s always entertaining to see how the fashion department on the set of TV Land’s Younger decide to dress 40-year-old Liza Miller (played by Sutton Foster) to have her look as if she were a millennial.
Season 2 of the show premiered last week, and I couldn’t resist featuring some of Liza’s style for this Wardrobe Wednesdays post. I’m particularly fond of this look, because as a fellow millennial in the publishing/editorial world, I sometimes go to work dressed like this.
She wears a very laid back look with a screen tee featuring a pencil-sketched bird, blue boot-cut jeans and a pair of coffee-colored boots. I actually had to watch some of the episode all over again just to catch her footwear!
Liza’s look is professionalized with a black vest/waistcoat, giving her boss no reason to suspect her real age. I mean, come on, what 40-year-old has time to find the perfect screen tee for a waistcoat?
Below are some items similar to what Liza is wearing in the episode.
1. Redbubble, $23.34
2. Redbubble, $22.40
3. Guess, $44.50 (on sale, reg. $89.00)
4. H&M, $39.99
5. Amazon, $18.30-$33.95
6. Amazon, $9.99

Don’t forget to catch Younger tonight at 10pm on TV Land!
About two weeks ago, I saw this van parked on West 38th street in Midtown when I got out of work. First I saw the scary face on the back doors and then I saw the cute yellow bird on the left side of the van.
The van belongs to K&M Camera on Broadway. Below the company name is a signature that reads “URBANIMAL,” which is the name of a Danish-Italian graffiti artist that does trucks, vans, and canvas art.
I definitely like the left side of the van way better than the creepy eyed character on the back doors. I can’t tell if the bird’s yellow feathers are the objects surrounding the eyes and mouth on the back of the van, but I do like the dark water droplets around the bird.
