Fan Art Fridays: Mariah Carey

Is this supposed to be the re-emancipation of Mimi?

This week, Mariah Carey did a photo shoot while floating on the Dead Sea to promote Dead Sea Cosmetics, and it is now confirmed that she’s indeed extra.

I mean, I can’t say I would pass up the opportunity to do a photo shoot on such a gorgeous piece of scenery, especially if I were a multi-platinum artist.

To celebrate her extra-ness (is that a word?), let’s enjoy a normal pencil sketch I found of the singer on Pinterest by reifra.

Fan Art Fridays: Happy Belated Birthday, Oli White!

British YouTuber Oli White’s 22nd birthday was yesterday, January 26. It’s so hard to believe that some of the YouTubers I watch regularly are younger than me. Especially Oli.

I don’t know why, but I always thought he was at least a year older than me until recently.

In celebration of Oli White’s birthday, enjoy this fan art I found of him on Pinterest by Ally. It’s a super cool cubist-like portrait of the YouTuber, which I think fits his personality perfectly.

P.S. Look at all those birthday drinks!

Fan Art Fridays: Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie was in the news this week because he’s become the latest of a large group of musicians that want to collaborate with the lovely Adele.

Get in line, buddy.

Apparently, when he first found out the name of Adele’s single “Hello,” he thought it was a cover of his original 1983 hit of the same name.

It’s safe to bet that Lionel Richie and Adele are probably going to be coming soon to your ears. On the same track. Together.

In honor of this news, I found this really fun cartoon version of Lionel Richie. It’s by an artist that goes by the name Menekse Cam online, and she’s got tons more where this one came from.

Also, am the only one that goes all out ROTFL when they see one of these shirts?

Fan Art Fridays: Maroon 5

This summer’s already starting to “hurt like a” … (you know the rest).

Turns out that Maroon 5 fans in China are being punished for band member Jesse Carmichael’s decision to wish the Dalai Lama a happy birthday over social media. (Don’t bother looking for the evidence on Instagram. It’s been deleted.)

That kind of thing doesn’t go over very well with Chinese officials. All the shows the band was set to play in China are now cancelled.

Looks like China isn’t giving Maroon 5 or their fans any “sugar” this summer.

I don’t think it’s fair to punish the fans for this. Freedom of speech man. Learn it, and if you don’t live it, accept that an AMERICAN band is going to practice it.

Jeez.

The sad news inspired me to post this dreamy piece of fan art I found of the band on Pinterest.

My heart goes out to the Chinese Maroon 5 fandoms.
