When I saw the news on my Twitter feed this morning I was in such shock that my retainer broke in my mouth when I gasped.

At least I think that’s why it broke…

The lesbian couple of three years, Glee actress Jane Lynch and clinical psychologist Lara Embry, are getting divorced. Lynch announced the sad news yesterday, June 10th.

Say it ain’t so!

Lynch and Embry met at a fundraiser back in 2009.

“We actually have a picture of the moment we met,” Jane Lynch said three years ago. How romantic!

“I said, ‘I want my picture taken with her,’ ” Dr. Lara Embry remembered. “I thought she was cute.”

They got married in Sunderland, Massachusetts at the Blue Heron Restauran back in May 2010, and now they’re calling it quits.

I guess the cute didn’t last very long.

Sigh.

52 year old Lynch stated that the decision to divorce was a difficult one for the couple. I wonder if their age difference played a role in this (Embry is 44).

I guess Nelly Furtado is right when she sings “all good things come to an end.”

My heart goes out to their two girls, Chase and Haden.

May this divorce be a  stress free and tranquil one for the family.
