Gallery Mondays: URBANIMAL Graffiti on AI Moving Express Truck

I saw another one of URBANIMAL’s creations on a truck near my job one evening a couple of months ago. I love seeing these unexpectedly pop up on trucks in NYC.

This truck happened to be an AI Moving Express truck, and the art on it was both subtle and vibrant at the same time. It features a man in grayscale in a sort of portrait style surrounded by fish on either side of him along with a few UFOs overhead.

Looking at these little fishies in the graffiti reminded me that their waters are going to turn to ice soon, as winter is approaching :/

Gallery Mondays: #BoxTruckGuardians by SINNED

#boxtruckguardians SINNED

During my lunch break sometime last week, I saw this truck in the turning lane on 39th Street and 8th Avenue in Midtown, NYC. I usually hate trying to take photos of things in moving traffic since they almost always come out blurry, but the light for the turning lane was red so I took the chance.

Needless to say I didn’t regret trying.

The graffiti art on the truck was created by NYC artist SINNED. It features a floating guardian squid with what appears to be a spiky helmet.

While looking at more of SINNED’s art on Instagram, I noticed that the squid didn’t always have those menacing black marks above and below his eyes or the little black nostrils. The light green waves in the background weren’t originally there either. SINNED went back and added those elements after he was finished with the piece.

Kinda fun playing spot the difference there, huh? (Did I miss any?)

Gallery Mondays: #25 by Wane Cod & Lucky Liz

I turned 23 this past weekend, and it truly occurred to me how old I am when I just looked up when the last Garfield movie was released.

More than 10 YEARS AGO.

What even?!

Anyway, I see this truck by Wane Cod and Lucky Liz every time I run an errand for my boss near 32nd Street and Broadway in Midtown, NYC. On it, Garfield the fat cat looks cool as ever in a pair of dark shades against Cod’s infamous “WANE” stamp.

If this is #25, then I better start hunting for the other 24 trucks!

Gallery Mondays: URBANIMAL Graffiti on B.K. Express Truck

A few months ago I spotted this B.K. Express Truck sitting in the parked lane on 8th Avenue in Midtown with URBANIMAL graffiti all over it.

The truck has a Michigan address on it, which is enough to pique my curiosity. The URBANIMAL graffiti was just an added bonus.

The first thing I noticed were the fish and how much the ones along the bottom of the truck look like Frankie and Evelyn from Spongebob. That can’t be a coincidence.

The second thing I noticed was the uncanny amount of eyeballs in the piece as a whole. Wow.

URBANIMAL’s graffiti never ceases to amaze me.
