I’ve decided that every Monday here on The Whisper Box, I’d share a photo of a work of art I found interesting at a gallery. It could be a painting, sculpture, object, etc.—anything from the art world I find worthy of being noticed. I might even post a photo of something from an upcoming exhibit that peaks my interest.
We shall call this series “Gallery Mondays.” Perhaps it’ll make Mondays a bit less sucky. Also, a lot of art galleries in NYC are closed on Mondays, so this will be something to look forward to.
This Monday, we have a wooden sculpture of Daft Punk by Xavier Veilhan. I saw this back in March at Galerie Perrotin.
I’m still amazed that Daft Punk let Veilhan capture them in this piece for his series sans helmet! They’re so strict about not having anyone take photos of them without their headgear, so I find it fascinating that they were open about having this done at all.
The series is called Producers and you can read more about it over on The Creators Project.
