Happy International Women’s Day!
Yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve done a Fan Art Fridays, I know.
I saw the new film Alita: Battle Angel, based on the Japanese manga series by Yukito Kishiro Battle Angel Alita, in theaters a few weeks ago. I’m usually not one to jump at the opportunity to see an action movie in theaters but this one seemed interesting, and even though I hadn’t read the manga, there was something drawing me to it. (I also had a promo code to buy the tickets but that only influenced 25% of my decision to see it).
Although Alita is a fictional character, I think she’s perfect to feature for a Fan Art Fridays post that falls on International Women’s Day. I think it’s really important for literature and film to feature strong females such as Alita to inspire young women to become leaders and fight for what’s right.
I love this fan art I found by sonny only on ArtStation because it shows Alita’s soft side as she watches a butterfly fly away off of her hand. But don’t be fooled—Alita unleashes her BAMF mode when necessary.
