A couple of weeks ago, my mom and I had one of those “where are they now” moments while discussing one of my favorite 90s children’s television characters, Loonette the Clown, from The Big Comfy Couch.
As anyone does, we did a quick Google search and found that Loonette was played by Alyson Court, who has a son and is now in her 40s. More on where she is now can be found over on MTV.com.
I used spend countless hours as a kid circa 1999 trying to perfect Loonette’s clock rug stretch on my bedroom floor after every episode (which was always a complete fail because I wasn’t that flexible then and I’m still not flexible now).
I woke up this morning remembering all this and decided I should probably make use of it for this week’s Fan Art Fridays. So, here’s some amazing fan art of Loonette and her doll Molly by nellii_bug on Instagram. It was created using ink brush pens, which give the fan art a watercolor feel. I also love the fact that she gave Loonette anime eyes!
BTW, would make a perfect Halloween costume idea for mother and daughter. You can even go as Loonette and take a Molly doll along with you if you can’t find a human to pair up with.
Check out some more of nellii_bug’s art over on Instagram.
