Gallery Mondays: Mark Mothersbaugh’s ‘Myopia’

MARK MOTHERSBAUGH: MYOPIA contemporary austin

Back in March when I visited Austin, Texas, I dropped by The Contemporary Austin to check out some art. The exhibit on view at the time was Mark Mothersbaugh’s ‘Myopia.’

My favorite part of the exhibit was the room filled with albums upon albums of pop art. Each card in the 4-section albums come across as a scene, and each album appears as its own mini drama.

Above is my favorite album. The card on the top right corner strikes me as most heart-wrenching because of the way the woman’s head is bowed down in deep thought over whatever had happened in the scene before.

Learn more about the exhibit over on The Contemporary Austin’s site.
