Gallery Mondays: RPGA Studio’s “Mudslide” Mural

63 drive street art

On Friday I was taking a nice stroll down 63rd Drive in Queens, headed towards Rego Park Mall when I saw this mural below the Long Island Railroad underpass between Alderton and Austin Street.

The mural is called “Mudslide” and it was painted by RPGA Studios as a project by Rego Park Green Alliance.

“Mudslide” is painted in primary colors, adding a touch of childlike fun to the birds flying eastward. I just love the girl floating away with the umbrella. It sounds kind of cruel to enjoy the fact that she’s being whisked away with the wind, but there’s something blissful about being able to float away without a care in the world.

Learn more about the mural here.
