Another Tuesday, another three pages of Keri Smith’s Wreck This Journal!
So I wasn’t really ready to start tackling the pages that require using color or anything other than a pencil yet. Here it goes:
Doodling on the back of an envelope
Full disclosure here–I was texting and watching TV while doodling instead of pretending that I was on the phone. Well, I guess texting is technically being on the phone, right? The things I doodled here are things I doodle pretty much whenever I’m doodling in the margins of my notes. I’m not the best doodler, but eh. Fun fact: the only person I know that doodles on the back of envelopes is my dad. I think he does it while on the phone too actually!
Tracing
When I saw this page, I got super excited to find a couple of things in my work bag to trace. My excitement left pretty quickly when I realized how weird some of the tracings look, but it came back toward the end of my tracing escapade. In order of the things I traced, the page has: a USB drive, a mini tub of Vaseline, chap stick, one of my business cards, a sandal key chain, a key, and a dog key chain. If it weren’t for the key, I would not have had as much fun with this page. The ridges on the key made it fun to trace as my pencil made rapid in and out movements around the shapes.
Connecting the dots
I looked at this page for basically less than 15 seconds before closing my eyes to connect them. I thought I was going to do way worse than I actually did! I managed to get all the dots on the left hand side of the page, but I missed two on the right. Four out of six ain’t bad.
Next week, I promise I’ll force myself to do some pages with something other than pencil prompts!
