Fan Art Fridays: Happy Birthday, Leo DiCaprio!

leonardo dicaprio fan art

Leonardo DiCaprio turned 42 today, so I thought it would be fun to feature a piece of fan art I found of the actor in his younger years for this week’s Fan Art Fridays.

This digital fan art of 90s Leo was created by Kristin (kgpencil.tumblr.com) using SAI. It’s so realistic that I can feel his green eyes staring into my soul even more so than the original photo it was inspired by!

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Taylor Swift at the Polls

taylor-swift-at-the-polls-election-day-2016

Yesterday, Taylor Swift posted an awesome picture to Instagram of herself in line at her polling place.

I’m not shocked that she got the most likes of all the celebrity Election Day Instagrams, because she definitely knows how to show up to the polls looking super stylish and laid back.

She wore a charcoal gray top with shoulder cutouts and a black croc-embossed shoulder bag with a pair of dark jeans. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a really cool top with cutouts, so this put a smile on my face.

Below are the original top and bag Taylor Swift is wearing (marked with *) along with an alternative in case they sell out.

Top:

1. Splendid, $88.00 *

2. Macy’s, $20.99

Bag:

3. Shopbop, $445.00 *

4. Fayrouzy, $29.99

October Favorites: Locker Room Talk Parody, Mowmen & Elliott Morgan’s Poem

oct-faves-2016

Behold, Election Day is upon us.

I’m so glad October is over and we can get ready to move passed all of this!

I can’t lie, October was a pretty good month for music and YouTube. The news articles weren’t too shabby either.

Enjoy my faves for the month of October 2016:

Favorite News Articles

1. The Locker Room Talk parody. Who doesn’t love a good parody (esp. when NY Mag is involved)?

2. Mowmen. Officially the best typo the year. What even.

3. There’s going to be a Taylor Swift exhibit in NYC. In November. My year is has been MADE.

Favorite Music

1. “Parhelia” by REFLEX. I was unaware that they were making new music. Such a lovely unexpected surprise for me!

2. “There’s No Need” by Empire of the Sun. This song is very Daft Punk, and I like that.

3. “Control Myself” by LEISURE. What is it going to take to get these guys to come to NYC within the next month or so?

Favorite Celeb Instagrams

1. Hilary Duff is back as Wendy? Hellz YES.

2. Gabby Lindley looking fierce. Flower crowns rule.

Favorite TV Episodes

1. Lucifer, “Liar Liar Slutty Dress on Fire.” I can’t stop laughing at the part where she’s dancing at Lux and Lucifer loses his mind.

2. How to Get Away with Murder, “Is Somebody Really Dead.” Three words: Cotton. Eye. Joe.

Favorite YouTube Videos

1. Elliott Morgan’s poem. This took some turns. Awkward ones.

2. Zoella and Alfie do yoga. Animated yoga. Isn’t this the cutest thing ever?!

3. Mike Falzone’s boohooMAN fashion show. I don’t get why his friends are so mean to him. I really like his fashion photo poses.

4. Ryan Abe’s dog is a bad boy. Like, how could he?! Nice save though.

Happy November!

Gallery Mondays: Black Capitol

black capitol stainless art group capitol

Tomorrow is Election Day (finally) so I thought it would be fun to do something government related for today’s Gallery Mondays.

I saw this work of art resembling the U.S. Capitol at Robert Miller Gallery last year. It’s by Cuban art group Stainless and the piece is called Black Capitol (Capitolo Negro).

I found it fascinating that the canvas was painted with oil and polyester resin for this creation. It almost looks like a nicely decorated cake with all those raised ridges!

Learn more about Stainless here, and don’t forget to vote tomorrow if you’re able!

Fan Art Fridays: Happy Birthday, Matthew McConaughey!

Matthew McConaughey fan art

Matthew McConaughey turns 47 today! This is the perfect excuse to grab a big bowl of popcorn and binge watch all of the movies he’s in.

In celebration, here’s a piece of fan art I found on Deviant Art by Orchidea Blu of the actor. It looks so lifelike! I’m still in denial. Is it really not just a photo?

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Irina Shayk in New York

irina-shayk-in-nyc

I’m going to need a minute because I just found out that Irina Shayk is Bradley Cooper’s girlfriend.

Where have I been?!

Anyway, the Russian model was spotted in New York recently wearing an army green bomber jacket, perfect for fall weather. She paired it with black leggings, a tan suede Yves St. Laurent bag and a pair of black high heeled boots.

I love the tan and army green color combo she’s got going there. It’s super earthy and military-like.

1. SSENCE, $2,290.00 *

2. EXPRESS, $89.60
