Wardrobe Wednesdays: Det. Chloe Decker in ‘Lucifer’ Episode “St. Lucifer”

Detective Decker, Lucifer Episode -St. Lucifer-

Monday’s episode of Lucifer on FOX was pretty intense, huh?

I love seeing Detective Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German) in her serious work attire, but it was such a breath of fresh air when she arrived at the charity event in the episode “St. Lucifer” wearing some festive clothing!

She paired a black sequined crop top with a long red midi skirt, adding some red lipstick and wearing her blonde hair in curls. Despite the fact that she looked really Christmas-y, I definitely give her 10/10 for this look. She looked so reserved, as she wasn’t showing much skin, yet so dazzling with the sequins.

Below are some similar items for you to copy this look. Be sure to catch Lucifer on Mondays at 9/8c on FOX!

1. Dancewear Solutions, $31.95

2. MyTheresa.com, $456.00

3. Chicwish, $42.90

Gallery Mondays: Monopoly

Tax Day is coming, so I thought I’d make it a bit less stressful with some street art I found at a gas station near the corner of Horatio St. and 8th Avenue in NYC.

The art seems to be a joint collaboration by popular graffiti artists Alec Monopoly and King Saladeen. As you probably have guessed, the depictions of the Monopoly man (Rich Uncle Pennybags) were done by Alec Monopoly. It still makes me laugh that his last name is connected to one of the main characters he likes to draw.

The bear is by King Saladeen. He’s got a little crown on his head so I’m assuming this whole artist name matching the artist’s drawings thing is pretty intense.

The one thing I really find interesting about this street art is the Monopoly man with a maze on his left shoulder. Are we supposed to find a way out?

March Favorites: Adele’s Beard, “Watch Me Do” & ‘The Catch’ Premiere

march faves

So March didn’t really go out like a lamb for me. I’d say it was more like a really sassy alpaca.

March was filled with a lot of great music, and sadly, a lot of season finales. I’m really looking forward to the summer when all my shows come back!

Here are my favorites in the world of pop culture for the month of March:

Favorite News Articles

1. Adele’s beard. The fact that she named it is killing me.

2. The royal family went skiing. The family portrait is super adorbs!

3. The Rock holds on to Zac Efron for dear life while on a motorcycle. “Hold me close my tiny dancer…”

Favorite Music

1. “Watch Me Do” by Meghan Trainor. Sassy. James Brown would be so proud.

2. “Do It, Try It” by M83. After hearing this song, I realized the Junk would probably end up being a very weird album, but it isn’t really too weird…

3. “All Out in the Open” by Mesita. It’s a little bit of Ed Sheeran mixed with indie and I love it!

4. “Where Would I Be” by Gwen Stefani. The hook in this song is everything.

Favorite Celeb Instagrams

1. Taylor Swift’s mom’s dog wants some food. It’s already been taken, buddy.

2. Selena Gomez in rollers. Still trying to figure out how her hair will look once those rollers get taken out.

3. Henry Cavill went unnoticed in Times Square. I would have been beyond pissed if I’d walked by and then found out later in the day that it was him!

Favorite TV Episodes

1. The Catch, “The Pilot.” That painting (“Alone Together” by Maria Kreyn) is literally their relationship.

2. Pretty Little Liars, “Hush…Hush, Sweet Liars.” So many things happened between the couples in this episode that I don’t even know how to begin to feel.

3. Limitless, “Bezgranichnyy.” I’m not sure if I like Brian with Lucy Church or Piper Baird more.

4. Bates Motel, “‘Til Death Do You Part.” I actually really think Norma and Alex are great for each other.

Favorite Youtube Videos

1. Mike Falzone standup. I’m totally seeing him when he comes to Astoria in May! Let’s see if the audience is anything like this one LOL.

2. James Corden was L.A.’s mayor for a day. Of course he would want to cut all the ribbons.

3. Tanya Burr talks in her sleep. Husband Jim Chapman tells all.

Enjoy all the April rain.

Fan Art Fridays: Gilmore Girls

gilmore girls cast fan art

Yesterday, PopSugar released an article detailing the full cast of the Gilmore Girls revival on Netflix and I couldn’t be more excited!

I feel so old when I think about the last episode that aired back in 2007. I don’t even really remember much of the finale, so I’ll have to re-watch a couple of episodes from the last season to refresh myself before the Netflix premiere. If only Netflix would tell us when already so I can allow myself enough time to do so.

Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel will be returning as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. Liza Weil will return as Paris Geller, Scott Patterson as Luke Danes, and today Melissa McCarthy announced she’ll be coming back as Sookie St. James!

I can’t wait to see everyone back at Stars Hollow. In the meantime, enjoy these portrait sketches of the Gilmore Girls cast I found on Deviant Art by kitsunegari16.

Wardrobe Wednesdays: Alice Vaughan in ‘The Catch’ Episode “The Real Killer”

Alice Vaughan, The Catch Episode 2

#TGIT on ABC added a new fashionable TV character to its lineup: Alice Vaughan.

Alice Vaughan, played by Mireille Enos on the new series The Catch, is a private investigator that fell for a con man. And when I say she fell, I mean she really fell in deep. Like, never-gonna-be-able-to-crawl-out-of-this-hole deep.

In episode 2, titled “The Real Killer,” Alice wears a white swing dress with tall black boots. As she leaves the house, she’s seen with a tan-colored trench coat hanging over her arm.

I love how simple and innocent this look is. I really like the fact that she went for a tan jacket instead of black to add more color to the outfit.

Below are a few items similar to what Alice is wearing. What do you guys think? Does Scandal’s Olivia Pope have some style competition coming her way?

Coat:

1. Burberry, $1,095.00

2. Nordstrom, $158.00

Dress:

3. WearAll.com, $17.05

4. Missguided, $28.90

Boots:

5. Aldo, $65.00

6. 6pm, $196.99

Be sure to watch The Catch on Thursdays during #TGIT at 10/9c!

Gallery Mondays: Rainy Day

airbnb austin rainy day umbrella

On my trip to Austin in March, I stayed at an Airbnb that had two very nice paintings on the wall. This scene of two women holding umbrellas as they walk toward the Eiffel Tower was one of them.

Today was another rainy day in New York. Upstate even got some snow. So much for spring, huh?

I love how this painting appears like a foggy dream. The street looks so slick from the rain, and the Eiffel Tower almost didn’t make it into the painting!

I have no idea who painted this, but if you do, leave a comment below with a link to the artist’s site!

3 Mics @ Lynn Redgrave Theater

3 mics neal brennan ticket

On Friday night, my friend Karina and I went out for a little night on the town.

After scrolling through Today Tix earlier that week, I found 3 Mics, a comedy show featuring former co-creator of the Chapelle Show Neal Brennan.

The premise of the show is Neal Brennan’s ability to alternate between three microphones, showcasing his abilities as a versatile comedian. One of the three mics were for one-liners, another for long-form jokes about topics such as race and student loan debt, and the last one for his journey as a writer and performer. Before switching to a new mic, the lights would fade out and Neal took a sip from one of the three water bottles in each microphone cradle.

1 man, 3 mics.

1 man, 3 mics.

The show took place at Lynn Redgrave Theater in Greenwich Village. Karina and I took the M train to get there from Queens, and it was a pretty smooth ride.

We got to the theater around 9pm, and the show started at 9:30. I’d forgotten to tell Karina that there were no drinks at this venue, much less a bar area. I don’t understand how a venue for comedy thinks it’s okay to not have a liquor license. Someone fix this! Karina had intended to pay me back for the tickets by getting me a drink, but we had to go elsewhere for that.

The best part was realizing we’d only paid $1o each for obstructed view seats (which weren’t obstructed at all) to see a show by a comedian that once worked alongside Dave Chapelle. How insane!

Obstructed view? SOLD.

To say Karina fell head over heels for Neal Brennan is an understatement. Regardless of how depressing Neal’s life is when it comes to feeling emotion, he’s a great standup comedian with a lot of feel-good energy. Our favorite joke of his involved male and female hormones.

“With women, estrogen is like, ‘Let’s drink some wine and go on Etsy,'” he said. Then he imitated testosterone, which he compares to a jail inmate, by pulling the bar stool closer to do a few push ups.

It was great. Best $20 I spent on a night of entertainment to date.

After the show, we went to meet some of Karina’s friends at Diablo Royale. I had The Luci, which was sparkling wine mixed with a frozen margarita. Karina had a classic margarita.

After a hunt to satisfy Karina’s late night sushi craving, we got on a train decked out as the set of Starz series Outlander.

We couldn’t resist taking a few pics.

Overall, we had a great night. I’ll definitely be using Today Tix more often.
