I just found out yesterday that Coldplay will be releasing their new album A Head Full of Dreams by the end of 2015!
According to Contact Music, the album is going to be way less somber than Ghost Stories. The release date still has yet to be confirmed, but we do know that the songs on the album will have a more positive, upbeat vibe.
I’m really excited to hear A Head Full of Dreams. I wasn’t too pleased with Ghost Stories, so I’m hoping that they’ve gone back to writing songs like “Viva La Vida,” and “Don’t Let It Break Your Heart.”
To celebrate the good news, I decided to showcase this drawing of the band with the word “VIVA” in the backdrop.

A couple of weeks ago, I visited the Meow Parlour in NYC. I’ve been wanting to go see the cute little kitties there since forever, but every time I tried to make a reservation they were booked. Luckily, I finally got to go!
The parlor is filled with lovely kitties to pet and play with. Across the street from the parlor is a cafe and bakery owned by Meow Parlour. You can order treats from the bakery while visiting the kitties at the parlour, but I didn’t stay too long so I didn’t bother.
Here are a few pics from my visit!
You gotta love that photogenic kitty.
This guy was hiding from me at first, then he came out to stare at me with wide eyes.
I remember how soft and fluffy this kitty was 🙂
These two were literally having a cat fight at one point.
Before I left the parlour, I bought these two cute kitty buttons. Haven’t worn them yet, but I plan to soon!
If you’re visiting NYC this summer, you should definitely make a reservation to visit the Meow Parlour!
Oh, what some of us would do to be submerged in a body of water like this woman right now.
While I was checking out the latest exhibit at Last Rites Gallery called “The Kindly Ones,” I stumbled upon this beautiful painting by Davis Stoupakis.
The painting is called Rise, and the red color he uses for the flowers in the water give the scene a sort of passionate nature. From the woman’s pose to the way her hair blends into the water, this painting is just simply gorgeous.
Check out the painting at Last Rites Gallery in midtown, and see more of Stoupakis’ artwork here.
Converse has decided to give it’s renowned sneaker a makeover for the first time in almost a century. They’re going to be released to the public for purchase on July 28th, and a lot of Chuck Taylor fans are either excited or disappointed about the news.
Don’t fret though. You can still buy the older design, if you’d like.
Named The Converse Chuck II, the new design comes in red, white, black, and blue. They’ll cost you $75 for the high top and $70 for the low cut.
But, what’s so different about this new sneaker?
Apparently the outside will look almost the same, but the inside will be completely revamped with a padded tongue, perforated suede lining, durable canvas, and Nike’s Lunarlon foam.
I was expecting a totally new design for the outside of the shoe. I mean, come on. The design hasn’t changed since 1917, and this is all they’ve got?
I’m not going to be showing off the inside of my shoe! What’s the point?!
I will admit though, that Nike foam looks mighty comfy.
Selena Gomez turned turned 23 this week! Woohoo!
Apparently, on her birthday (July 22nd), Justin Bieber supposedly sang her a “Happy Birthday” song over FaceTime, complete with a rose and all (not sure which version of the birthday song, but I hope it was PG).
Some stars have a habit of giving the fans a gift around their birthday as well, and Selena is no exception. She announced that her upcoming album Revival will be released on October 9th!
Are you excited or what?!
In celebration of these events, I’ve dedicated this weeks Fan Art Fridays to her. This piece of fan art was found on Instagram, and it was done by self-taught artist @aldohatta.
Happy belated birthday, Selena Gomez!
Cue the music.
On Friday I was taking a nice stroll down 63rd Drive in Queens, headed towards Rego Park Mall when I saw this mural below the Long Island Railroad underpass between Alderton and Austin Street.
The mural is called “Mudslide” and it was painted by RPGA Studios as a project by Rego Park Green Alliance.
“Mudslide” is painted in primary colors, adding a touch of childlike fun to the birds flying eastward. I just love the girl floating away with the umbrella. It sounds kind of cruel to enjoy the fact that she’s being whisked away with the wind, but there’s something blissful about being able to float away without a care in the world.

This summer’s already starting to “hurt like a” … (you know the rest).
Turns out that Maroon 5 fans in China are being punished for band member Jesse Carmichael’s decision to wish the Dalai Lama a happy birthday over social media. (Don’t bother looking for the evidence on Instagram. It’s been deleted.)
That kind of thing doesn’t go over very well with Chinese officials. All the shows the band was set to play in China are now cancelled.
Looks like China isn’t giving Maroon 5 or their fans any “sugar” this summer.
I don’t think it’s fair to punish the fans for this. Freedom of speech man. Learn it, and if you don’t live it, accept that an AMERICAN band is going to practice it.
The sad news inspired me to post this dreamy piece of fan art I found of the band on Pinterest.
My heart goes out to the Chinese Maroon 5 fandoms.
