It’s Poem in Your Pocket Day!

old-letters-436503_1280

Today is Poem in Your Pocket Day! Although I won’t be literally carrying a poem in my pocket today, I’ve decided to share a poem here on The Whisper Box.

Yes, you may not know this but my writing extends to creative writing as well. I’ve actually been working on two poetry projects that I might decide to publish in the near future.

Most of my poetry is contemporary romantic.

This poem is called “Cosi Dolce” which is Italian for “sweet thing” (I was an Italian Studies minor, forgive me).

So here we go! Hope you enjoy 🙂

Cosi Dolce

I had a dream at midday,
At around three in the afternoon.
I was an audience member on a TV show
I don’t remember which one it was,
but at one point I was chosen
to go up onto the stage.
Then all of a sudden
I was on a bus—
a yellow school bus,
and I saw an old friend of mine
from school, sitting all the way
in the back by herself.
We started chatting about a whole lot
of nothing, and then
I was at home
by myself, seeing myself
from the couch
on a screen
and for some reason
I was on stage again
and I kissed you.
I slid my feet across the floor,
a short distance between us,
closed by two swift movements,
and you drew me in close,
as if no one was watching,
you dipped me,
leaned down,
and grabbed my mouth
between your lips.
The thing is,
I didn’t remember doing this
until I saw it
in live color
on the TV.

Happy Poem in Your Pocket Day!

Favorite Pretty Little Liars ‘Ship’ Montages on PrettyLittleCampaign.com

ShipMontagesCampaign

Another week of amazing Pretty Little Liars fan art has come and gone! I absolutely LOVED these ship montages from last week’s challenge. The GIFs from the show are always superb, and these submissions to the Pretty Little Campaign were no exception.

Since there were so many great ship montages, I limited myself to only picking four of them―one for each of my favorite couples on the show.

Here are my faves!

This Week in Music: Urban Cone’s “Weekends”

It’s only Tuesday and Urban Cone’s already got us thinking about the weekend.

The band released a new track off their upcoming album Polaroid Memories called “Weekends,” and it’s got a very cheery, upbeat chill vibe.

It’s the kind of song you want to burst out the door to on a Saturday morning as you jump on your bike with your friends riding alongside you.

The song’s fuzzy synth and happy guitar rifts are enough to put you in a good mood. “Can you feel it?” they sing. “I can feel it.”

There is a slightly melancholy part of the song right before the chorus, which is my favorite part, probably because I’m used to Urban Cone’s melancholy lyrics.

Before the chorus they sing, “Do you remember, we used to build castles?” in a very reminiscent voice. “I used to feel it. You used to feel it.” They continue as the beat slows down and the guitar begins to strum lightly.

Oh, the Polaroid memories. (see what I did there?)

In any case, the song is definitely more pop sounding than their other stuff, and I can’t say I’m in love with it or anything. It’s alright, but I think I liked “Sadness Disease” a lot better than I enjoyed “Weekends.”

Listen to “Weekends” below and pre-order Polaroid Memories here.

Favorite Pretty Little Liars #ChArlesIsA Shareable Graphics From PrettyLittleCampaign.com

ChArlesIsA PrettyLittleCampaign.com 2

Round two of the Pretty Little Campaign is upon us! It’s time to get your final votes in for the #ChArlesIsA shareable graphics created by none other than the amazingly talented Pretty Little Liars fanbase.

I will admit that I enjoyed last week’s season six premiere fan art more than this week’s graphics. There’s much less variety with this round’s #ChArlesIsA theme, which could be the reason why I haven’t been all that excited about the fan art currently circulating on PrettyLittleCampaign.com.

However, that does not mean that I didn’t find any #ChArlesIsA shareable graphics I’d like to see make the cut. Here are five of my top picks, and make sure to vote for your personal favorites by the end of today, April 14th!

Leo Dicaprio is Having Too Much Fun at Coachella 2015

Feast your eyes on what soon could become a new meme: Leo Dicaprio’s Coachella 2015 dance moves.

The actor was spotted at the Neon Carnival this past weekend busting some pretty cringe-worthy moves. It’s like a fist bump mixed with nerdy side shuffling and Taekwondo.

The Leo Bump and Shuffle Sucker Punch?

The man’s got the hat over his eyes, drink in hand (God knows what he was sipping on to induce this craziness), and that awful beard goatee thing on his face.

But why?!

In any case, TMZ caught some of it on video, and Getty got high-res photos of the mess, which I made a lovely infinite loop GIF out of for your viewing pleasure.

Somebody get Leo a professional dance partner. Stat. And a barber for that beard too, please.

Favorite #PLL Season 6 Premiere Fan Art From PrettyLittleCampaign.com

PrettyLittleCampaign - Edited

For the next two months, fans of ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars will be hard at work creating and voting for the art that goes into the Pretty Little Campaign.

Hey, at least they’re doing something to satisfy our PLL addictions until the summer ends.

Until April 7th, fans can submit their Season 6 premiere art for a chance to be featured in Seventeen Magazine’s June/July issue. There are so many amazing PLL edits currently up on PrettyLittleCampaign.com, including Photoshopped images, sketches and even watercolor. Only one piece of fan art will win the Season 6 premiere ad spot, so here are my five favorites:
