I’ve decided to start doing a monthly favorites series on my blog! Woohoo!

As of now, the categories are: favorite news articles, favorite music, favorite TV episodes, favorite celeb Instagram photos and favorite YouTube videos.

If you have any other suggestions for categories, please let me know in a comment below!

Favorite News Articles:

1. Miley Cyrus’ concert gets banned in the Dominican Republic. You know it’s serious when half of Hispanola doesn’t want you performing on their soil!

2. Photos of Koko the gorilla mourning the loss of Robin Williams. So touching.

3. Iggy Azalea fell off the stage during VMA rehearsal. She’s a trooper, man.

Favorite Music:

1. *This one is a two part-er* Goldroom released a vocal stem of his new song “Till Sunrise” feat. Mammals so that DJ’s around the world could have fun with the track before it came out this month. Here are my two fave premixes:

The LTMR Premix: Features an uber dreamy recurring voice of soothing orchestral “ooos” throughout the song along with light violin and horn melodies. Literally paradise in a song.

The Truefaux Premix: I can’t get over how sexy this is. Jeez. Cue the slow motion running along the shoreline! I just love the bell sounds right before the chorus. It’s pure genius, the way Bobby Caldwell’s 1980s song “Carry On” is mixed in. Gah, so good!

2. “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift.  I still don’t get why so many people were offended. The song and the video are brill. #HatersGonnaHate

3. “Animals” by Maroon 5. V cannot come out sooner enough! Can Maroon 5 ever write a bad song? NO!

4. “Miracle” by Kimbra. I’m kind of disappointed that this is the only song I like off of her new album The Golden Echo but this one is definitely amazing.

5. “All About You” by Hilary Duff. This. Is. It. She. Is. Back. I was kinda worried about her first comeback single, “Chasing the Sun” but this…THIS IS GOLD.

6. “Touch” by Troye Sivan. Of course, TRXYE is freaking amazeballs, and this song is no exception. This kid better release an LP in the next year, man.

7. “Run-Time” by Imogen Heap. After AGES Imogen’s album finally came out (idk why her label delayed it for so damn long!) and I absolutely love this track!

Favorite TV Episodes:

1. RUSH 1×5 “Where is My Mind.” Pretty much all of the RUSH episodes so far have been so good, but this one was the craziest roller-coaster I’ve been taken on in a 60-minute time period for a while.

2. Pretty Little Liars season 5 summer finale. I can’t even begin to understand how or why they let us predict this season’s finale death. They NEVER do that!

Favorite Celeb Intagrams:

1. Miley Cyrus’ zit cream mustache.

2. Nick Jonas’ sexy muscle.

3. Goldroom, RAC and the birds.

4. Selena Gomez in Zen mode.

5. Emily Osment handstand.

Favorite Youtube Videos

1. Improv Everywhere: Black Tie Beach. This looks hella fun! The majestic hula hooping at 1:10 is just awesome.

2. MarcusButlerTV: Not My Legs with Niomi Smart. I love these two so much. If they broke up I would cry forever.

3. Chester See: Whatcha Wanna Know. These fans ask the best questions. “When you go to the toilet are you Chester Wee?” WHAT. I can’t even.

4. Zoella: How Well Do We Know Each Other with Alfie Deyes. These two are also adorbs and I’d cry forever if they broke up too.

What were your faves this month? Hope you had an awesome August. September’s comin’!

Magic! Live @ Irving Plaza #FashionRocksFrontRow

IMAG0336

On Friday, August 29th, right before the Labor Day weekend festivities, a Canadian reggae-pop band decided to bring a bit of magic to the end of our summer.

The Magic! concert was powered by the new LG G3 at Irving Plaza. I am again in debt to 1iota for the tickets my friend and I acquired for the show.

Before the show began, we were able to take some really cool photos in front of the LG G3 billboard backdrop. Super cool stuff!

While we waited in front of the stage for Magic! to perform, DJ K Styles spinned some sassy beats for us. I was pleased to see a female DJ for a change.

At 2pm, it was time to get down with to some reggae with lead singer Nasri and the rest of the Magic! gang.

The band opened with “No Evil,” Nasri ending the song making an X sign with his arms.

Can I just say that Nasri has the most amazing pelvic movements the world has ever seen! He’s like, the Elvis of reggae-pop!

Nasri, can you take me clubbing in Canada? Is that a thing that can happen?

The rest of the set list included “Mama Didn’t Raise No Fool,” “Paradise,” “How Do You Want to Be Remembered,” and their upcoming single “Let Your Hair Down.”

Speaking of hair, Nasri has gorgeous locks. Brb, still swooning.

The girls got an extra special shout out hen the band performed a revamped reggae-tastic cover of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” They know what they’re doing, man.

The show ended with “Rude,” the song on everyone’s tongue this summer. Everyone went nuts in the crowd.

This was such an awesome way to end the summer. Thanks again for the tickets, 1iota!

Luckily, the concert was livestreamed, so you can watch it online here!
